Summary of ESHRE 2025 Conference: New Knowledge for My Patients' Health

From June 29 to July 2, 2025, I had the honor of participating in one of the key events in the field of reproductive medicine — the annual ESHRE conference (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology). This is a platform where leading specialists from around the world share the latest research, techniques, and experiences. Today, I would like to share with you my impressions and key takeaways from this event. This knowledge will help me take even better care of my patients’ health, especially in complex cases.

Main Topics and Issues

At the conference, we focused on the most complex situations in reproductive medicine that doctors and patients face:

  1. Low ovarian reserve — when there are very few eggs in the ovaries (only 2–3 instead of the normal 8–10), and even intensive therapy does not always bring the desired results.
  2. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) — especially when combined with metabolic syndrome and hyperandrogenism, where the patient’s body does not respond to treatment as expected.
  3. Genetic issues — modern approaches to early diagnosis and preconception diagnostics at the embryonic level.
  4. Repeated IVF failures — cases where even high-quality embryos do not implant. What could be the cause, and how can it be addressed?

Глубокое погружение в проблему имплантации

One of the key topics was the interaction between the embryo and the endometrium. Even with a perfect embryo, problems with the endometrium can lead to failure. We discussed in detail:

  • Inflammatory processes in the endometrium (endometritis), which can hinder successful implantation.
  • Autoimmune factors — non-infectious causes that affect the outcome.
  • Endometrial microbiota — how the composition of the microflora can play a role in implantation success or failure. Research findings from different countries were presented, aimed at optimizing treatment.
  • Endometrial support after embryo transfer — how the thickness of the endometrium and additional measures can increase the chances of success.
  • Innovative approaches to selecting drug therapy and the role of hormones in each individual case.

Individual Approach and Technology

Special attention was given to the need for personalized treatment. Today, there are AI-based programs (such as GPT) that help develop the most effective protocols for each patient. However, it was repeatedly emphasized from the ESHRE stage: no technology can replace a doctor. The final decision always rests with the specialist, who considers all the nuances of the patient's condition.

Why Doesn’t Treatment Always Work?

We also discussed why, even with normal ovarian function (8–10 follicles), the response to therapy may still be insufficient. This is especially true in complex PCOS cases with metabolic disorders or low ovarian reserves, where the eggs do not respond to stimulation even with high doses of medication. These situations require new approaches, which we explored during the conference.

Who Can Benefit Most From This Knowledge?

The data and methods obtained at ESHRE will help me work more effectively with complex patients:

  • Those with low ovarian reserve.
  • Those experiencing recurrent miscarriages.
  • Those with serious metabolic issues and comorbid conditions.

Why Is Participation in Conferences So Important?

As a member of the European Society of Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and Reproductive Specialists, I strive to attend key events such as ESHRE, as well as international congresses in Turkey. These events allow me to stay up to date with the latest trends, exchange experiences with colleagues from around the world, and find the best solutions for patients. A single doctor cannot keep track of the entire volume of information emerging in our field alone. Conferences help highlight what’s most important and ensure nothing is missed.

The next major congress I plan to attend will take place in November in Antalya. I am confident it will also bring new ideas and knowledge that I can apply in my practice.

My Impressions and Conclusions

ESHRE became a source of inspiration and new professional tools for me. Discussing complex cases, exchanging experiences, and exploring innovative approaches strengthened my confidence that even in the most difficult situations, a solution can be found. The key is an individual approach, continuous learning, and the responsibility of the doctor.

This knowledge will help me take even better care of my patients' health, especially those facing challenges on their journey toward the dream of having a child.
